Core Web Vitals, explained

Core Web Vitals are three Google measures of how a page feels to use: loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP) and visual stability (CLS).

Why it matters

Google considers a page good when the main content loads within 2.5 seconds (LCP), it responds to taps within 200 milliseconds (INP) and the layout doesn’t jump around (CLS of 0.1 or less). Slow phone pages lose customers before they read a word.

How to improve it

  • Compress large images and use modern formats like WebP.
  • Remove plugins and scripts you don’t need.
  • Use page caching on your server.
